The building features an impressive entrance with a rectangular plan, with vaulted ceilings, where a staircase is inserted on flying buttresses.<\/p>\n
The structure of this staircase gives ample importance to the atrium entrance, thanks to the presence of valuable materials such as Carrara marble flooring, iron railing worked with wooden handrail, and slate thresholds at the top floor.<\/p>\n
The first floor, or \u201cpiano nobile\u201d, is characterized by a rectangular plan that faces the exteriors on three sides, where there were elements of value, such as hexagonal flooring in polychrome cement tiles and decorated pavilion vaults. The second floor, however, being an attic, and so with a low architectural and historical value, offered more design freedom. Nevertheless, the original brick floor of the era was still there.<\/p>\n
The project took into account the strong historical and architectural connotation of the building: the clear division of the spaces was maintained as before, though mending those areas in order to put them in communication and to increase the perception of the space.<\/p>\n
The new openings in the existing walls, with rectangular and circular cuts, are elements with a strong contemporary character and are visibly opposed to the existing ones, valuing them, and it results in a better usability and functionality of the house.<\/p>\n
On the first floor, during the renovation work on the plasters, were found unique dry decorations, after the removal of the superficial layers of painting, dated back to subsequent restorations.<\/p>\n
On the top floor, however, it was possible to work more, given the conditions in which the attic was.<\/p>\n
The original floor has been maintained and restored and four rooms have been created: a contemporary kitchen overlooking the terrace, a gym with bath and sauna, a relax area and a guest room.<\/p>\n
The approach taken towards the pre-existences is based on a contrast of strong contemporary materials in order to make the evolution evident, between what it was and what it is now. This way it is possible to find the original terracotta flooring in the kitchen, blackened and lived, next to a resin floor on the gym area; the wooden and iron door has been recovered from the attic and put back in its place, with the circular hole in the bearing wall, openly contemporary.<\/p>\n

La struttura di questa scala d\u00e0 ampia importanza all\u2019atrio di ingresso, anche grazie alla presenza di materiali di pregio quali una pavimentazione\u00a0 in marmo di Carrara, ringhiera in ferro lavorato con corrimano in legno, e all\u2019ultimo piano invece soglie in ardesia.<\/p> Il primo piano, o \u201cpiano nobile\u201d, \u00e8 caratterizzato da una pianta rettangolare che si affaccia all\u2019esterno su tre lati, in cui erano presenti elementi di pregio, come una pavimentazione in cementine esagonali policrome e volte a padiglione decorate. Il secondo piano invece, essendo un sottotetto, quindi dallo scarso valore architettonico e storico, offriva pi\u00f9 libert\u00e0 progettuale. Ci\u00f2 nonostante era ancora presente la pavimentazione in cotto originale dell\u2019epoca.<\/p> Il progetto ha tenuto conto della forte connotazione storica e architettonica dell\u2019edificio: la suddivisione netta degli spazi \u00e8 stata mantenuta come in origine, ricucendo per\u00f2 quegli ambienti, al fine di metterli in comunicazione e di ampliare la percezione dello spazio.<\/p> Le nuove aperture nelle murature esistenti, con tagli rettangolari e circolari, sono elementi dal forte carattere contemporaneo e si contrappongono visibilmente all\u2019esistente, valorizzandolo e garantendo una migliore fruibilit\u00e0 e funzionalit\u00e0 all\u2019abitazione.<\/p> Al primo piano, durante i lavori di ripristino degli intonaci sono rinvenute particolari decorazioni a secco, in seguito all\u2019asportazione degli strati superficiali di pittura, risalenti a ristrutturazioni successive.
